This class is about getting the joy back! I offered this class last summer and started off thinking about the basics of painting. But pretty soon we just started having a blast! Everyone became focused on their own personal painting style and we worked together to support each other. It felt so much like camp that I thought I'd go more in that direction.
So painting in any medium will be fascillated by Sally who has 25 years of teaching experience and a lifetime of painting. The class will be "choice" based. That means there will other activities to learn about and do. Printmaking techniques will be offered along with other creative fun.
This is a "Let's get back to JOY class!" And creating in community!

Join us for an an immersive watercolor workshop with Jean -Francois Arnold, built around a simplified approach to watercolor-
effective, intuitive and accessible to everyone

Jean-François teaches a method based on a deliberately limited palette of four primary colors: royal blue, cadmium yellow, cadmium red, and indigo. This reduction, rooted in his background in printing, helps artists better understand color construction, avoid chromatic confusion, and achieve more natural harmony. With only these four colors, you can paint almost anything.

But color is only part of the journey. Strong drawing skills remain essential. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Angoulême, Jean-François places great importance on accurate lines, solid structure, and a refined artistic eye. His teaching is built around two pillars:
• mastering a simplified yet highly effective technique,
• developing a strong sense of composition and expression.
Sound Good?

Aline's advice to "Find the Hero" stayed with me. Simplfying and identifying the focal point! Plucky and fun she teaches with enthusiasm and purpose. I loved hanging out with her!

“My goal as an artist is to find those times and places where beauty is not only evident, but startling and suddenly present.”
