At Cmaw, The artists who teach at CMAW
are professional, they have professional websites and show in galleries. They are from all over the country! And if you are looking for really good direct instruction and info. on painting these people deliver!! Believe me!
The classes are mostly 5 days. This provides enough time to really do a deep dive into your work. The usual day starts at 9 and after the first day, usually field trips to a harbor or unique location that we car pool to. It is up to teacher. Classes end at around 4 or 5 but the studios are open for your use after this.
There are critiques throughout the week, again up to the instructor.
Also, Lunch is arranged but not included. Also we usually have a group meal for those that are interested!
The adminstrative costs for running workshops need to be covered by the student enrollment. And to ensure the teachers get what they deserve, I will only run the workshop if there are 12 students at the Rockland location and 10 at the Pemaquid Hotel. This will be determined 2 weeks prior to class.
Also, students may cancel up to two weeks prior. Less a 75$ fee
The Rockland studio is a large space on the waterfront. It is air conditioned with a fridge etc. The space is used for a rainy days and critiques. Honestly I if the weather is good we are outside most of the time.
Rockland as a Maine city is hopping in August! It has two art museums and
many good restaurants!
The workshops at the Pemaquid Hotel are held in the carriage house across from the hotel. Open the huge doors and it's breezy and summery. Many of the painting locations like Pemaquid Lighthouse park are within walking distance. This location is more relaxed and easier to navigate!.
